Thank you Sairus for submitting the proposed changes for the AHG review.
All, please review the suggested new language and respond to this list with your comments. Most of the proposed changes attempt to clarify the role of the rendering engine and by doing so make certain implied actions normative. I don’t see any significant changes in specified font rendering behavior between the current and newly proposed language of the spec but because it does directly affects the rendering implementations I’d like to ask all interested parties to review and approve the proposal.
We don’t have too much time left to discuss the changes *if* we intend to submit them as part of the ballot comments due on April 27. One possible option (if more time for discussion is necessary) is to submit a ballot comment providing a general description of the desired changes and accompany it by a separate input document prepared for consideration at the next MPEG meeting. This way, we would be able to extend the absolute deadline from Apr. 27 to May 24th when the input contributions are due (which gives us almost 4 more weeks to discuss the details and agree on the specific language if there are any objections), and the next meeting will be held on May 30 – June 3rd.
Thank you,
Vladimir

Subject: [mpeg-OTspec] SVG table clarifications & examples
Vlad,
As promised, here are a few proposed clarifications to the SVG table spec, based on feedback received, and also some illustrative – & illustrated – examples.
Please see “2016-04-10 SVG OT Proposals_Adobe.docx” at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mpeg-OTspec/files (in Word format as recommended by ISO).
Some of the feedback discussion is still in process & unresolved (including this spec’s relationship to W3’s SVG Integration document), so there may be additional items in the coming weeks, but this is a good start for now.
Best,
Sairus
