Does Microsoft have a patent on the MATH table?

I know Murrary Sargent and other people at MS who were involved in 
developing the OT math typesetting framework (the font MATH table, 
math-specific OTL features, math layout handler, simplified math input 
language) have been actively supportive of independent implementations 
in flavours of TeX.
