As this AHG is established by the ISO SC29 Working Group, we are bound by all ISO processes and policies. More so, we are also bound by mandates published at the same time the AHG was created. Technical discussions related to the continued development of the ISO OFF standard are within the scope of this group, any discussions that involve IP rights should not be conducted here on this list.

Since I am joining this discussion late, when it comes to ISO IPR policies, they apply to all participants. Technical proposals should be discussed based solely on their merits – when a proposal is accepted for inclusion in the draft standard, the IPR holders should declare their positions and submit a formal statement to ISO that they are willing to abide by the ISO IPR policy. The database of all submitted statements is available at http://isotc.iso.org/livelink/livelink/13622347/Patents_database.xls?func=doc.Fetch&nodeId=13622347

You can find lots of info regarding ISO policies here:

(Btw, as this list was created by an ISO technical body for purposes of its technical work, it’s my understanding that all applicable policies would apply to this list.)

Vlad, is this true? :)
