[MPEG-OTSPEC] Break-out group session scheduling for WG3 (MPEG Systems) meeting next week

Dear AHG members,

 

The Font Format subgroup break-out session has been scheduled on Wednesday,
Jan. 19th at 21:00 UTC (1 pm PST / 4 pm EST / 22:00 CET). The details will
be added in the WG3 calendar soon. If you plan to participate and for
whatever reason do not have access to WG3 calendar, please contact me
directly.

 

Our main item on the agenda for this session will be Adobe's proposal to
update CFF2 table description (see input contribution m54898
<https://dms.mpeg.expert/doc_end_user/documents/137_OnLine/wg11/m58948-v1-m5
8948.zip>  or https://github.com/MPEGGroup/OpenFontFormat/pull/49 for
details). Since we are only allowed to produce two amendments for each
edition of the OFF standard, and we already reached this limit by finalizing
the ISO/IEC 14496-22/DAM2 (COLRv1 amendment) - in order to incorporate the
new CFF2 text we will need to ask WG3 to open a new work item and start a
new working draft of the 5th edition OFF. We will discuss this in details
during the break-out session next week.
