As stated in the AHG Activities part of the report, the input contribution m62937 is the summary of proposed changes that are outlined in the existing GitHub project (https://github.com/harfbuzz/boring-expansion-spec), which has been presented for discussion in this AHG on March 6, 2023 (see email from Dave Crossland). In the discussion that followed, certain specific features and ways they could be integrated into the spec were discussed, but no conclusion had been reached on how to proceed. Based on the discussions conducted to date, it was my assessment that further discussions are necessary and that the impact of the proposed changes need to be carefully evaluated before any decision can be made.

However, as it is common practice of the WG3 (in fact, any WG of SC29) - the input contributions cannot be made public to facilitate further discussions. Therefore, it was my recommendation that *based on the results of the discussion conducted during the WG3 meeting*, the content of the input contribution m62937 _could be published_ as a separate Technology under Consideration document, which, unlike an input contribution, can be made public and be used as the basis for further AHG discussions. Note that the way this recommendation is worded is merely a suggestion, and that the final decision on how to proceed will be made by the WG.

Subject: Re: [MPEG-OTSPEC] Draft AHG report for review

AHG would like to note that new functionality and changes proposed as part of the
m62937 need to be discussed further, and their impact on existing specification and
implementations needs to be carefully evaluated. The AHG recommends that pending
the results of discussions conducted as part of the WG3 meeting, the text of the input
contribution m62937 could be published as a separate “Technology under
Consideration” output document for further AHG discussions.
The AHG recommends to review proposed clarifications and revisions summarized in
m62953, and republish the updated version of the Working Draft text of the 5 th edition of
ISO/IEC 14496-22 making both output documents available for public review.

I am against these recommendations.

I have not seen any discussions around m62937 (where is it?).

How can this AHG make recommendations about what has

not been discussed in it?

Regards,

Makoto

Dear AHG members,

Based on the email exchange conducted on this list and input contributions uploaded for the upcoming WG3 meeting, I have prepared the draft AHG report, which is attached for your review. Your comments are much appreciated. In absence of any comments, I plan to submit this report by the end of day April 22, 2023.

Please stay tuned for additional announcement of the OFF break-out session. Based on the event schedule next week (and taking into consideration UTC activities that coincide with the WG meeting), the break-out session will be scheduled on Monday afternoon, April 24th, after both the MPEG and WG3 Plenary meetings. The exact time and Zoom info for break-out session will be provided in a separate email.

Thank you,

Vladimir
