After further study (looking at PostScript Language Reference) it appears that the above statement is wrong. Not only is ".null" a valid PostScript name identifier, the identifier "null" has special meaning unrelated to glyph names. Thus the correct name for
glyph index 1 probably should be ".null".<br>

If this is the case, the OFF spec section 7 "Recommendations for OFF fonts" should be modified to say:<o:p></o:p></p>
