The kick-off of AHG on Open Font Format

Dear MPEG_OTspec AHG members,
 
This is a kick-off message of the ad hoc group on Open Font Format. At
the last SC29/WG11 meeting the new work item to develop a second edition
of the ISO/IEC 14496-22 "Open Font Format" has been approved, and the
AHG has been established with the following mandate:

1.	To verify the corrections proposed by the SC34/WG2 and to add
the correct text to Annex B of ISO/EC 14496-22, 2nd edition.
2.	To review the new features of the Unicode standard and to verify
that the proposed changes sufficiently address these new features
3.	To review the text of ISO/IEC 14496-22/CD (2nd edition), make
sure that all the new functionality is properly documented, and to
propose additional text and clarifications, if necessary.

 
The detailed information on the proposed changes to ISO/IEC 14496-22 can
be found in WG11 input documents m15077 and m15082. The draft of
OpenType specification incorporating the proposed changes has been
published on the web and can be accessed at

The discussions related to new features proposed for OpenType
specification also go on the public OpenType list. An invitation has
been sent to the OpenType list for interested parties to join this AHG,
and any member of this group who is also interested in joining OpenType
reflector can subscribe to it using the following information:

Please review the proposed changes and submit your comments and
proposals on this reflector. The proposals may include comments on the
currently published changes, as well as the suggestions for new features
and functionality. 
This AHG will remain active until 85th WG11 meeting in July 2008. A
face-to-face meeting may be held (if necessary) in the weekend before
the 85th WG11 meeting.
