Dear all,
I was reminded that the standards development procedures have recently been changed, which will affect the proposed schedule. Taking into account the new process, the tentative schedule for the amendment would be as follows:
January 24-29, 2011 - Working Draft amendment
March 21-25, 2011 - Proposed Draft amendment and issue combined PDAM / registration ballot (3 months)
July 18-22, 2011 -Draft amendment (5 months ITTF ballot)
Nov. 28 - Dec. 02, 2011 - Study Draft Amendment (if needed, to review and incorporate early comments)
Feb. 6-10, 2012 - Final Draft Amendment (2 month, simple yes/no ballot)
April 2012 - publication
Please remember to submit your proposals for additional items to be considered as part of this amendment no later than early January 2011. However, taking a holiday season into account, I'd suggest to have the discussion started as early as possible, with new suggestions submitted for AHG to review before holidays.
Thank you,
Vladimir

Subject: [mpeg-OTspec] RE: Proposed Script tag additions
Dear all,
I would like to suggest for your review and consideration the following proposed schedule for a new OFF amendment, which is based on the approved schedule of the WG11 (MPEG) meetings:
January 24-29, 2011 - Working Draft amendment
March 21-25, 2011 - Proposed Draft amendment and issue combined PDAM / registration ballot (3 months)
July 18-22, 2011 - Final Proposed Draft amendment (4 months ballot)
Nov. 28 - Dec. 02, 2011 - Final Draft Amendment (2 month yes/no ballot)
Feb. 6-10, 2012 - publication
Some noteworthy points:
- An attempt to accelerate the amendment and produce PDAM in January would not change the final outcome - the ballot would not be closed until the end of April, which will push the FPDAM date to July;
- Starting with the working draft will allows us some time to review the additional proposals (if any) and incorporate them in the current amendment based on consensus;
- Any proposed new features should be submitted to this AHG list no later than early January to allow sufficient time for discussions. The agreed proposals would have to be submitted to WG11 no later than Jan. 17th;
- We will have a chance to review and improve the Working Draft amendment and improve it before promoting the document to the Committee Draft stage in March.
Please submit your ideas and proposals for new features and/or improvements and clarifications to the spec for AHG consideration.
Thank you and regards,
Vladimir
