There are lots of apps that will display a font name (name IDs 1, 2, 4, 16, 17, 18, 21, or 22) using the font itself.

Although they are specifal-purpose, the various deployment formats for Adobe Blank, whose fonts cover all 1,111,998 Unicode code points, makes for an interesting case for displaying 'name' table string content:
