Hi,
I like to propose to the ISO WG overseeing this group to acknowledge that the AdHoc model has NOT worked for many in the industry and discontinue this model.

Behdad, will you post a retraction of your proposal to discontinue the AHG, as your recent above statement seems completely contradictory to me.
In my opinion, the proposal to discontinue the AHG has no merit, and isn’t something that this AHG could even consider – this is the WG business. The WG establishes AHG with the specific mandates and for specific purpose, which is done according to the rules defined in JTC1 Supplement, clause 1.14.
In the video the original submitter of the proposal published on YouTube (https://youtu.be/9vSLkriYBFs), he admitted [at 2:48:00 timestamp] his total lack of knowledge and understanding of how AHGs are established and operate, and he further admitted [at 2:58:03 timestamp] that the proposal to discontinue the AHG was simply a ploy to get attention to his allegations of wrongdoing that the OP did not substantiate.
Furthermore, in his other messages to the list (https://lists.aau.at/pipermail/mpeg-otspec/2020-September/002474.html) and in his public post on Twitter (https://twitter.com/behdadesfahbod/status/1309574992514805761?s=20, also see below)

He made it clear that the actual events prompting him to file a complaint with ISO have nothing to do with the business conducted in this AHG – it was simply conceived as a way of gaining more leverage in a dispute that happened between two parties conducting their private business on a private email list.
Therefore, it is my opinion that the complaint against this AHG has no merit. It was an attempt to use this group and ISO organization as a pawn to exert pressure in resolving a private disagreement. The proposal to discontinue the work of this AHG was an attempt of obstruction of our work, an intent that’s been further confirmed by his email on Oct. 1st, saying “Moving forward, I'm also going to object to ANY proposal that was NOT developed in the open on this mailing list.”
