I was not seeking to participate in the meeting. I was simply hoping to
send a document about my idea for a Many to many substitution and
localization feature to be added.
And if you do so, your document would end up being seen by the same group
of experts that already gave you very elaborate detailed feedback on your
idea.
I do not know what are the ISO rules.
Our work is governed by the Declaration for participants in ISO activities
<https://www.iso.org/declaration-for-participants-in-iso-activities.html> and
by the ISO Directives
<https://www.iso.org/sites/directives/current/consolidated/index.html#_Toc165304981>
.
Should my suggestion of a Many to many substitution and localization
feature not have been posted in this mailing list?
At some point in time, the AHG mandates included exploration activities of
new technologies, but since the new 5th edition text is now finalized, no
new proposals can be accepted at this time. Besides, your idea has already
received a preliminary review of experts and has been rejected primarily
because it violates the basic principles of separation between textual
content and its visual representation.
Is there a way that a future Working Group mandate could include a Many to
many substitution and localization feature please?
No, because the mandates for future work are developed by consensus of the
Working Group experts. Your idea has already been discussed at lengths, and
the reasons for its rejection have been clearly stated. Repeated
discussions of the same idea are not going to yield a different outcome.
With kind regards,
Vladimir
