Hi Denis, all,

I think it’s relatively straightforward and simple to add these new proposed language tags as part of the input contribution where we proposing some additional changes for SVG table. I will make the needed changes and will send a new version for review shortly.

Looking at the proposed languages and tags – it seems that we have no conflicts using BSK and JCT as language tags for Burushaski and Krymchak and KMZ for Khorasani Turkic.

Is there a particular reason to deviate from ISO 639 tag for South Slavey using SSL instead of XSL?

Thank you,
Vlad

Hi Vladimir,

Yes. If language tags for Burushaski [bsk], Krymchak [jct], Khorasani Turkic [kmc] could be added and the name "Slavey" for the tag SLA [scs] could be changed to "North Slavey" in the current amendment that would be great.

Thank you.

Hi Denis,

Just to clarify – are you proposing to add these new language tags to the current amendment?
If this is the case, we will have a chance to do it when the new ballot is open, which is expected to happen in mid-June, after then ISO WG11 meeting is over.

Thank you,
Vlad

Apologies, I hit send too early.

Here are some language tags notes:
- Burushaski [bsk] needs a language tag since it may need locl feature in some fonts. The Burushaski figure four can be assumed to match that used as a diacritic on Burushaski letters 0777 ݷ and 077D ݽ, which would require a locl feature in some fonts if the figure four 06F4 follows Persian form instead of Urdu form.
- "Slavey" SLA [scs] should be labelled "North Slavey" to match "South Slavey" SSL [xsl]. "Slavey" or "Slave" refers to both languages or the macrolangue [den].
- Krymchak [jct] (see https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/jct/Main_Page) and Khorasani Turkic [kmc] (see https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/kmz/Ana_sahife) need language tags since they use i and dotless i and need appropriate features like Turkish and other languages.

Regards
